OECD Review of Higher Education and Regional Development, out on 19 September 2007
How can OECD countries mobilise higher education to support regional development? What role can higher education institutions play in linking regions to the global knowledge economy?  These are among issues explored in a new OECD review of the interplay between higher education and regions due out on 19 September.

OECD will launch the report " Higher Education and Regions: Globally Competitive, Locally Engaged" and discuss its findings at a conference at the Technical University of Valencia, Spain on 19-21 September 2007. The conference is open to the media.

OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, Mercedes Cabrera, Spanish Minister of Education and Juán Juliá, Vice-Chancellor of the Technical University of Valencia, together with OECD experts, will hold a news conference at 12:30 pm on 19 September.
