Objetivos

COURSE GOALS: Learning grammar structures to be able to understand extensive argumentative texts and write well-structured essays on a variety of topics and with few mistakes. Developing speaking and listening skills to allow students to carry a fluent conversation with native speakers.

Metodología didáctica y sistemas de evaluación

TEACHING METHODS: Two and a half hour sessions, twice per week. The course follows a communicative approach with emphasis on student interaction and real life situations.

GRAMMAR C1.1:

1. Time phrases. The continuous aspect

2. Perfect and passive forms

3. Qualifiers. Intensifying adverbs

4. Future probability and past modals

5. Emphatic structures and avoiding repetition

6. Phrasal verbs and verb patterns

VOCABULARY C1.1:

1. Personality and identity. Wordbouilding: binomial pairs. Word focus: life

2. Phrasal verb get. Idioms: safety. Word focus: foot/feet and personal qualities.

3. Describing towns and adverb+adjective collocations. Word focus: ground

4. Wordbuilding with –able and phrasal verb come. Word focus: give.
